Speakers Club Small Group Session (when available)
Example Programme :

  • Welcome
  • Talk on aspect of speaking, posture, voice (including how to prepare)
  • Discussion by attendees about the talk
  • Speeches (pre prepared) delivered and timed
  • Questions from the attendees
  • Feedback on speeches
  • Response from the speaker
  • Comfort break
  • 1 minute introductions from attendees who wish to speak
  • Impromptu, spontaneous mini speeches
  • Feedback
  • Attendees comments, diary dates, close

Recent attendees have come:
  • to improve their general confidence when speaking in public
  • to practice a 10 minute pre-prepared speech about their business for a networking event (one session in a small group workshop to learn to prepare the speech, practice the introduction. Then a couple of group sessions to practice delivering the pre-prepared speech, spontaneous speaking useful for answering questions)
  • to write, practise their 1 minute introduction for networking
  • to learn to speak more openly about themself -
    vulnerably yet also with strength
  • to practice their spontaneous speaking useful for answering questions, particularly unexpected ones, interviews, speaking up at meetings.
  • to learn to write, prepare deliver a visual presentation in front of colleagues, clients, suppliers at work (one 1 to 1 and one group session)
  • to practice facilitating a group they want to run
  • to be President/Officer of their Club/Society
  • to practise their presentation skills, giving evidence in court
  • to learn how to speak for radio and for a video/TV

Alexander Technique (AT) Small Group Taster Session Programme :

  • Welcome
  • Active sitting to strengthen the lower back
  • A tad of basic anatomy
  • Where are we designed to bend.... and wherenot....?
  • How are we designed to move ... and how not....?
  • Walking up the stairs easily
  • Semi-supine to rest the back, release excess tension
  • What did Alexander discover?
  • The NHS research, Clinical trial on AT  and back pain and results of AT being used in an NHS pain clinic
  • Other uses for the Alexander Technique to change habits of a lifetime
  • What can I do next to help myself ?

Recent attendees have come:
  • to end and prevent chronic back pain
  • to end and prevent chronic knee pain
  • to improve balance after a fall
  • to stop neck pain which endured for a couple of years after a whiplash car injury
  • to ease severe neck pain
  • to get unstuck in life and stop repeating habitual patterns that held them back emotionally
  • to stop breathing throught their mouth which makes their voice hoarse
  • to improve their breathing and the volume of their voice
  • to learn to stop and prevent pain re-occuring due to how they stand, bend in their job as a beauty therapist
